The Business Analysis Body Of Knowledge (BABOK) is the globally recognized standard for practicing business analysis. The BABOK process details the business analysis tasks, inputs, outputs, elements, stakeholders, tools, techniques and guidelines used by a business analyst for a specific project.

This website details the artifacts (inputs and outputs) contained within the BABOK, not just those produced by the business analyst, but also those that are produced outside of the BABOK and used as inputs to the process.

  • Purpose - Why effort is spent on producing this artifact and what is the benefit to the project?

  • Relationships - Related artifacts that, provide input information, use this information in this artifact, are contained in or containing this artifact.

  • Attributes - The information that comprises this artifact.

  • Tasks - The tasks that create, update and maintain this artifact.

  • Guideline/tools and Techniques - The business analysis tools that are assist with creation and maintenance of this artifact.

  • Stakeholders - The people who provide input to, assist with its maintenance, or take delivery of this artifact.
