Business Need

A problem or opportunity for which the business requires a solution. Business Needs are elicited from business stakeholders, such as end users and domain SMEs.

Business Needs are used during creation of a Stakeholder Engagement Approach, Elicitation Activity Plan, Current State Description and the Business Analysis Approach.

Details

The Business Need artifact contains two attributes:

Requirement ID - A unique reference to the business need.
Need - A statement describing the business need.

Example

ReqID:BN001 - Due to the cheaper cost of shipping and rising cost managing property, we need to sell more products online instead of the store.
